Below, you can read why The Daily Life of Gay Parents makes me very happy and where you can get your copy.

The Daily Life of Gay Parents is personal to Annemarie Dekker

As she describes on her website, Annemarie Dekker asked herself what daily life is like for families with homosexual parents when her girlfriend was pregnant with their first child. So, for three years, she photographed over fifty families in all shapes and sizes: two moms, two dads, single parents, and multi-parent families. We can now watch her beautiful photos in a hardcover book.

Why The Daily Life of Gay Parents makes me happy

It gave me great pleasure seeing my family life represented in a book. The accompanying interviews, which are available in both Dutch and English, also offer me a learning experience. I started Meemoeder.com to share my experiences when my wife and I were trying to have a baby. I was looking for other people’s experience, but all I could find were webpages from the Government and lawyers. For over two years, to give back to my community, I shared everything. Our son is now three years old, and elementary school is the next step. I hope to find a few answers in the interviews regarding how older kids and parents react to same-sex families, and learn from their experiences.
